Thumbs up reliability: itbs or turbo?

what would be easier to maintain? having itbs or going turbo? i know both setups are reliable, but which one would be "more" reliable? something that would take less to maintain? any info would be great. thanks!

Lower power = more reliable is a good rule of thumb? You could get a +50hp turbo kit thats uber reliable.

generally yes, but in the hands of a bad tuner(or lack of one) you'll blew thing left and right

What makes a car unreliable or causes it to break down is a few things:

Quality of Parts installed
Tuning
Person who knows how to correctly install the part.

I don't know how many other shops that I have been to, who think that they can just install a part because they "think" that they know how to install it. However, things can go VERY wrong if you don't read the instructions. Tuning also plays a HUGE factor in setups like this. I had my AEM EMS tuned by a very very good tuner, and I have had 0 problems with my setup.

ITB's require more babysitting when it comes to tunes. They are finicky and even weather can necessitate changes. But they stress an engine no more than a stock intake system (besides particulates)

Dont forget the experience of the driver. If you have never had a turbo charged car before. i wouldnt even go there. Reason being is every person the first time the turbo a car, developes the love for a turbo system it is very addicting and on an s2k its basicly how many times you can drop a bowling ball on a pieace of glass to make it break. given i blew 3 transmissions out of mine, you cant even think about shifting this thing quick under boost. you HAVE to granny shift the piss out of it if you want it to stay together. just 2 cents of experience. cause it was indeed my first car
