Default Weekend Adventure

2 guys from work and I took off for Reno this weekend. On Friday afternoon we loaded up Marie and after work we took off. We got there about 9:30 on Friday night.

Saturday we ran over to Lake Tahoe. The road from Reno to Tahoe was 23 miles with nearly 5000 ft of elevation change - I really wish I had Stella for that part. The Rogue was just no fun on that part.

Sunday we got up and spend a little time at the Roulette table with "Bandana Man". A very loud young man who in 50 min won about $1500 and lost about $2500, at a $0.50 min. table. After a late breakfast we took off for home.

Trip Stats:
Miles - 1165
States - 3
MPG - 27.6 ave
Hookers seen - 3
Money lost - $30.00

Yes this is the real thing - we saw it in Reno.

nice! How does Reno compare to Vegas (besides being a lot smaller )?

Nice photo's, thanks for sharing Garrett. That looks like some serious miles in just a weekend, along with the other activities.

way smaller......

It is not bad - less to do, but less people too. There were 2 large hotel/casinos and several small casinos that were closed. The gamblers were in general less polite and a little on the anoying side. There were TONS of kids - this was a huge suprise to me.

Woah! I'm about to make my move up to Corvallis and here you are taking a trip down to Reno lol.

Reno is a small city but it's a pretty good size. There's actually quite a bit to do down here and a lot of hidden gems and hot spots, including Tahoe.

I would say gambling in Reno is boring. Although food in some of the casinos are to die for. What were you doing in this neck of the woods btw? If any of you guys are heading down this way, let me or any of the other guys in the Northern Nevada forum know and we'll be happy to recommend things to do, food to eat, etc....

Hope you had a great time!

Thanks for posting your pics G. Brad & I went to Tahoe a few months back, but it was SO cold there that I didn't want to get out of the S or put the top down, so we didn't get any pics. But the drive from Tahoe to Reno was great, and the drive from Reno to Chico was even better.
