2012 PGP Lapping Days
North section of track was closed due to pouring exit curb concrete for the Rally America event the following day (they discounted the rate and gave us a discount for the next event). Light rain in the morning with a damp track essentially dry by afternoon. Very low turnout. 3-4 cars all afternoon = as much track time as you want. I didn't start running until 11:30 and I put in over 100 laps. I could have run 200 laps but I swapped in stock pads the night before after cracking a rotor and chunking my pads at PR the previous day. The stock pads faired really well but would start smelling a lot after 15-20 laps so I gave them plenty of time to cool down between sessions.
A GTR went off track after only a handful of laps. Exited the track at braking zone for T3 and went airborne off a dirt berm (supermoto GTR?). Luckily, he ended up so far off track that we continued to lap while it was flat-bedded out. Too bad, looked like he was running really fast.
Track was super fun, as usual, despite the short course and damp conditions.
I used my street tires all day and just played around. It was a good shake down test for the new SC. Boost is very good.
Some hooligan highlights from the day:
