^ Ya, but I think that he actually ran a 1:06. Though if Bundy ever gets back out there with Hoosiers he should be able to go faster now. (new suspension, new diff, more power...) He thinks that 1:05's are possible...

^ Assuming stock suspension and GOOD stock sized tires I would think that 1:15-16 would be pretty good, but definitely doable. With good suspension and GOOD street tires 1:13-14 should be doable. Add race tires and 1:11-12 should be doable.

I think that Jared was running 11's or 12's on stock power??? Alfy ran 15's??? on street tires. I ran 14.8 on street tires in my stock powered Miata. Others have pushed their stock powered s2k's pretty damn fast, but IDK what tires they had.

I would guess that most s2k's of aggressive summer tires will be in the 17-20 range depending on the driver, but someone who knows the track and is willing to push should go a bit faster. At PGP it is mostly up to the driver, and how hard they are willing to push, and how will they use the width of the track to carry the most speed.

I was able to get settled into 1:14's last summer, but I can't do it consistently. I'm curious to see how I do with a fresh set of tires as my R-S3's weren't in good shape last year. The car *feels* capable of a low 1:14/high 1:13, but I haven't figured it out yet.

I'd agree that a 1:16 is attainable on stock suspension and good tires. I think a few S2Ki'ers have gotten into the low 1:17's on competitive tires and stock suspension. I think I was at a 1:17.1 on 225/255 Star Specs and definitely leaving a good chunk of time out there.

I've gotten down to 1:16:46 on stock suspension and Star Specs. Each visit I'm able to shave the time down slightly. But that's also after the 2nd or 3rd session on a lapping day. One 6 lap $25 session would only be a good warm up.

And my timing was with Harry's Lap Timer and my iPhone. So I'd be curious to see how their official timing compares to the iPhone app timing.

I've compared HLT with transponder data at a real track, and it generally seems to be within .2 of a second. The problem with the stock iPhone is a 1HZ update rate on the GPS so that makes it harder to get a very accurate laptime. There were a few cases were its been off by half a second but generally they tend to be pretty close.

With a stock engine, I ran 1:13.1 on 225/255 RE070s (OEM CR tires) and 1:10s on cording 225/245 V710s.
My best time so far was a 1:09 with the supercharger and 255/255 R888's.
I know 1:08's are possible and likely 1:07's with some fresh Hoosiers or V710s.

All I want for Christmas is a tire sponsor!

I think you need a wheel sponsor too.

Played hooky for a bit and hit up PGP yesterday afternoon. Got a ride in the cool 2002 race car (thanks, Andrey - it was fun)

It was dry in the PM and wide open. Definitely fun. I might have to break down and buy some r comps again just to go a little faster but this non-staggered setup is really fun.
