Ultimately, brakes are the reason I stopped running the S2000 on the track ..... tried several random aftermarket "Big Brake" combos/options and was never happy forever there after
Knowing you, you'll figure something out because stock fronts are not going to hold up for you with the SC (too much caliper flex and/or cracked rotors every other time out if you go high mu)
I've had pretty good luck so far. These were the original rotors with 35k mi. They were on their last legs after dozens of track days and time attacks. Using the appropriate pads goes a long way with thermal management. My only real issue has been rotor distortion due to thermal expansion. A floating rotor ought to fix that.
RT - how was caliper flex causing issues? What were the signs of excessive flex?
If boost overloads the brake system too much, I'd probably go for some AP calipers and floating rotors.

The way the flex showed up is the pads would wear at different rates radially (not leading edge wear but thinner at the circumferential edge closest to the tire). The result was a deeper and deeper pedal as the return continued to use more slave stroke. The "solution" was to use a higher mu pad frt and rear to reduce the clamping force but then cracking rotors every other track day started. Then the down hill spiral in to the BBK's began and the tailspin continued right in to the ground

Do you think that was due to caliper flex or thermal expansion of the rotor which is constrained at the hat on the outside face which would cause "cone-ing" in a concave manner. I get the same condition where the outside pad is only contacting on the outer perimeter and vise versa on the inside when hot. I attribute it to rotor dishing while the caliper remains rigid which causes the pad wear. I could be convinced otherwise. If the inside and outside pads both display increased wear at the exterior edge, then I'd conclude caliper flex. Sounds like that's what you experienced.

I'm assuming you both have/had brake ducts? Two-piece floating rotors out to help, and apparently for a BBK on the cheap you can fit Acura RL front calipers with a custom 2 piece rotor from Racing Brake.

Did you try this kit? Looks like it would have solved your issues https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...ic=763984&st=0

Dude- super secret roof-flies-off air brake is already in the works, no rotors, pads or calipers required!

...patents pending.

a little off topic, but do they require any added roll protection to either an s2k or miata to run pgp?
