2012 PGP Lapping Days
30lb is much lighter then I would have expected, your using the Rotrex blower and fmic as well as an oil cooler correct? Whats different/custom in your kit over KW?
Is your diff clutch worn out? I don't think I have experienced a problem with inside wheel spin no matter when I apply power through a turn. When I brake traction under any amount of throttle, both tires are spinning as I kick the rear end out. It may be our difference in driving style or likely susp set up.
My car is quickest when I go in hot, weighting the front as much as possible, letting off the brakes before the apex, then pitching the car and then get on the gas a little later on exit, vs going in easy and getting on the power sooner. This is further exaggerated now with my tire size combination of 225 up front and 295 in the rear. The grip overall feels surprisingly balanced if I use a hot entry as mentioned. I think your using a non staggered tire set up though so your playing in a pretty different field. With my year sway bars/10k f/r spring rates and power output I feel the stagger suits the car better, it feels much more forgiving under power now obviously with these meats. Just plants nice.

Any of you care to put your latest mods and skills to the test?
Chris, this has your name all over it. It's dirt cheap and starts after your normal working hours.

You bring the car and PGP provides the circuit to test your abilities while speeding through the full .82-mile course. Rain or shine, licensed drivers of any skill level will enjoy the thrill of finding a better line or braking point to shave time off as they wind through the 14-turn asphalt track.
Up to 30 drivers can take part in Car Lapping sessions, with drivers guaranteed 12 minutes of track time each hour. The cost for a full-day (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) is $125 and for a half-day (9 a.m.-noon) is $75. Passenger fees are $25. More information and registration forms are available at www.pacificgp.com under “Racing@PGP>Car Events>Car Lapping Days.” Pre-registration is required by fax to (253) 639-7229 or email to info@pacificgp.com.
While Car Lapping sessions are non-competitive — it’s you against the clock — there is no better way to prepare for Lap Attack, PGP’s newest event slated for June 11 where the top three finishers will hoist trophies on the PGP Motorsports Park podium.
Lap Attack! drivers in three classes — front-wheel drive (FWD), rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) — will get one 10-minute session on each of four different track configurations, with their fastest lap on each configuration combined for an overall total. The lowest overall total wins. Cost is $85 and the competition is limited to 36 drivers. Watch for registration forms and more information on Lap Attack! at www.pacificgp.com.

where was everyone today???
my name is chris, i am ludder_5555's brother. i went out to run the lapping day in my miata today, and there were no s2ki guys out there. there was one s2k, but he wasn't on s2ki yet, hopefully he will sign up, cause he was a very nice guy.
before the guy in the s2k left he took down some of my lap times, and i was running 1:26.6 pretty regularly. some quicker, and some slower. my quickest that he recorded was 26.3. this was all in the pouring rain, and track conditions were very wet to say the least.
after he left the rain let up some and the track started to dry a little. there were still puddles in some of the apexes, and the track never developed a dry line, but i know i was going a bit faster, cause there was much less sliding. my guess would be 1:25's, 1:24's being wishful thinking.
as for how much we got to run... well at the peak of the day there were 5 cars. so they just left the track open all day, and said to just get on and off as you please. we all got as much time as we could have possibly wanted. i must have had at least 3-4 hours of actual on track time. i kept running right up to 4:00PM, when they needed me to get off for kart customers.
out of the cars that were there i would say that once i got my good tires on the car (that showed up today, thanks to slow UPS) i was the quickest one out there. other cars were AP1, 240sx, GTO, and supercharged cobra mustang.
the mustang could have been a lot faster, but it was his first wet track day, and he was scared about the tail coming out. he was running at best 1:45. the gto was pretty good, and he was very enthusiastic, but the car understeered like a pig, and when he got on the throttle, he either spun it, or carried a nice long drift. He was running ~1:40. the s2k was driven very well and was putting down high to mid 1:20's on very bald tires. and the 240sx spent most of its time sideways drifting. he was quite good, and quite fun to watch. even with some drifting he was putting down 1:26's. he would have been much quicker if he wasn't drifting, and if his brakes didn't keep going soft. i think that his master cylinder must have been going bad.
After all that was over, i stuck around and competed in the wed warrior. where again no s2k guys showed up!!!! just before we started it poured rain, so the track was terrible. i quickly learned that these go carts do not turn in at all when the track is wet. in the first practice session i was mid way through the pack, both in position, and fastest lap. after that each session i placed second on fastest lap, and either ended up in second, or got taken out somewhere along the line. for the final session, and for the win, the track was just starting to dry out, and i got the fastest lap of the day, and won the race. lap tine was 56:3 if i am remembering correctly. we were running the "south long" track configuration.
all in all, it was the funnest day that i have had in a very long time, and i can say that at my first track day in my miata i was the quickest one there, and my first rental cart race, i was the quickest one.
i guess next time you guys will have to come out and knock my ego down a peg, cause right now i am feeling on top of the world.
sorry for the longest post ever...

^^^ No that's not me with my ridiculously wide tires
My best on stock width street/all seasons is 1:15.1. 2nd to Gearhead who is the running champ with 1:13xx on street tires and 1:10.9 on R comps.
I haven't been out with my new tires... or properly working OEM brakes yet, but I fully intend on shaving a couple seconds off my current best
My goal is to have the quickest street tire time on that track -- and if I can do it on my second visit out there, even better. I would have liked to gone to the event on the 11th, sounds like an awesome competition! Unfortunately I will be in NM on vacation from 5th-12th. Next time I guess

ya, i am going to have to come out when its dry. i bet that i could easily crack into the teens on my all stock miata.
though i have to say that everyone should come to at least one of these wet events. i learned more about car control, weight transfer, and trail braking today, than i have in all the other autox events that i have done put together.
i really do wish that at least one of you guys that do this regularly had come down, cause i would have liked to see how you guys approached the track, and how fast you could have run. cause from my driver seat, and watching on the side line, it didn't seem like much faster would even be possible, (at least RWD) but it would have been fun to be proven wrong.
