is it really $100 to run your own car on the open lapping days?
that seems a bit steep unless you get tons of on track time.

ya i guess that its not that bad, i just expected it to be more in line with autocross pricing, i mean its a really small track right?
and how many sessions would your $100 get you?
cause by the way their site makes it out to be, you'd only see about 3 15 minute sessions at best. cause it only last a few hours for cars, they run at most 2 sessions an hour for cars, and if there are 30 cars i can't imagine more than 5-10 cars on track at a time. it just doesn't seem that you would get all that much seat time for your money.
then again, where do you get much seat time for your money.
if my calculations on seat time are off please tell me, cause i am going to be moving to WA soon, and am looking for either a place to have some fun in my car, or if it makes more sence get a nice kart.

Instead of
, you should go out and do it. And yes your calculations are off, the drivers and the track times you're mentioning are not exact every time.

To comment on the statement that the course is small - it's relatively small, but it's large enough. It's wide enough to set up a proper line, and if you have an AP2, you'll get enough speed to shift into 3rd at two spots. Lap times for sports cars on street tires were mid/high 1:10's.
Either way, hope to see you out at one of these or at a local auto-x
Just received this in the mail this morning...

More in line with autocross pricing? How so? You were expecting less of a deal? Dude, read what you just wrote and ask yourself if it makes sense. I'm not sure how PGP is set up this year, but if it's as you say, at $100 and 3 15 minute sessions (45 minutes), that's $2.22 per minute. An auto-cross around these parts is $25-$40 for 3-5 runs that are at most 1:30. That's $3.33 per minute in the best-case scenario ($25, 5 runs, 1:30 course, which is HIGHLY unlikely). You also have to do a worker assignment and pay for membership to the local clubs. I'm not trying to bash auto-X - I do a lot of it myself - but it's not the better deal here. It gets even worse if you start thinking about seat time per hour that you are standing out there.
that all makes sence, i know that actual track time would be about the same, if not better at pgp, i just wish that it wasn't quite as expensive. especially when there is not gaurantee of "x" nimber of sessions. their website just says atleast on car session per hour. if that is the case and 20 people show up and they let 10 on the track per session, you would only see one session every other hour, and in a 3 hour event you would then be seeing at best 2 sessoins that day. which would only be a half hour, make track time worth $200/hr. i am not saying that this is the case, i would just like to know from someone who has gone atleast a couple of times to state aprox how many sessions you could expect to get on average.
no matter how it works out it sounds like fun, and i will have it on my to do list the next time i make the trip north.
As stated on their website, it is 7 15 minute sessions at minimum. You won't find a better deal on the West Coast. This may change at the height of summer though, as demand will surely grow significantly for this event.
