i think the styling is a bit dated... but the motor is bulletproof, the transmission is bulletproof...

i also heard the handling characteristics of a supra are... not good. is that true?

I enjoyed my Supra quite a bit. It's much quieter, smoother, and more comfortable than the S2000. Power of course is effortless. However, it is heavier, feels much bigger to drive, and more expensive (gas, consumables).

There's always a big thing about how Supras are straight line only cars yada yada.. but I somewhat disagree. Handling is quite good and there is a lot of room for big tires. Suspension is quite good stock and there are plenty of upgrade options. Chassis flex with the targa (all US 97 turbos are targa) and the weight is the main issue IMO.

I wouldn't mind having another one once the craze for them dies off and prices become more reasonable. I sold mine mainly to buy a house, and secondly to force myself to be a better driver on the road course. Big power, big tires, big brakes can hide a lot of driver flaws while still turning decent lap times. Third, the car was just too expesive to track... 2 miles per gallon, 300 dollar a tire, and brakes to slow a 3600lb object going really fast really puts a dent in the pocket book.

Now that I think about it... I sure miss the power... A picture.. for old times shake...
