Default Backyard Special

Does anyone in the Puget Sound Region have a 2006+ S2K with the Backyard Special lowered seat rails installed?

I recently purchased an S2K and would like to install these rails, but would like to have an opportunity to sit in a car with these lowered seat rails to determine whether it is a worthwhile upgrade (downgrade?).

Also have a question about the installation related to the proper positioning of the SRS seat proximity sensor.

Happy to meet at one of the ubiquitous Eastside Seattle Starbucks locations for a coffee - I'll buy.

Thanks,

Bez

i have one also in my 04 and it made a difference in comfort quite a bit.

Im only 5' 6" or just a smidge taller but im all torso so i have a tall "seated position" and i feel this is how the car should have come from the factory.

NOTE: i have the sinu designs one but its pretty much the same for half the price. i think i paid like.....200 or 225 shipped for it. there was one quality issue but the seller took care of that by sending me a second one with little reserve in doing so.

I think it was you that sold me the rails.

They are a great addition to the car. Now I don't have to duck under to see stoplights, Haha.

I'm a pretty big guy at about 6'1" and 260lbs. Definitely worth it to buy. Im prey sure you can hale the pricing down a bit from some online retailers too. I know I did, when I was shopping for one. But instead I bought it from a member locally.

There is an excellent DIY that is nearly free:

I did a similar mod on my NSX and used my wifes electric turkey knife (don't tell her!) to perfectly remove some of the foam to gain additional "drop". It is almost impossible to tell that it has been done + in lowers your CG!
Hope this helps!

dont cut the foam. it will make the leather all loose and such. it'll come out looking awful.

Thanks for the posts guys. I still would like to meet up with someone so that I can see first-hand what difference the backyard special lowered seat rails make.

There's a free Starbucks drink of your choice waiting for you.

Thanks,

Bez
