In the Buff...
HA! Made ya look!
I'm looking for someone who has a buffer (and knows how to use it, baby!)
Here's the scoop...
When I bought my S2K it had been on Bellevue's lot for however long, so of course they'd put the stupid front license plate bracket on it. I've always been the type to put the front plate in the front window, so when they were doing the "delivery" I told them to take it off.
When they did, I noticed two small scratches/dings in the paint in the front bumper, likely from whatever moron installed the plate bracket. They said they had a guy who they used to fix & airbrush paint things like this, that he was really good, and they'd have him fix it. I was a bit leery, but figured I'd give it a shot.
Well, he gave it a shot yesterday - well, it looks like he shot paint over the entire center portion of my front bumper! Looks like poo, but Bellevue (Chuck/Parker/ and the service mgr) have been GREAT so far, and will take it to whatever body shop I want to have it fixed (I said I wanted to go with R&R, they said "ok"). We'll be setting up appointments on Monday, but based on R&R's schedule, it could be a week or more before it's fixed.
In the meantime, I've got a front bumper that looks like crap. It basically looks/feels like a bunch of overspray, and it's not very glossy. I hit it with everything I have here - clay and polish - but I never have harsh abrasive stuff here at the house. Nothing I have really helped.
So I'm hoping someone has a buffer (or another idea) that they think might work, so I don't pout every time I look at the car. It's really NOT that bad, I'm just sad my "baby" has an owie... feel free to call me if I don't answer this thread quickly (have a few things to do today so I may not be on-line the whole time) 206-390-4441

Annie, I have some 3M industrial buffing compound made exactly for that, the plus side is that it also has no chemicals that would require special treatment before it is redone by RNR. I could drop it by if you are going to be home today, if not I will leave it on your front doorstep.
