Tom, when are you coming back stateside?

She sounds absolutely amazing! So not the sound of a Honda...oh and do you still use the Start push button
Thanks buddy,
right now my plan is to stick this out for a couple more years, that said, I'm sure I'll be heading over to Afghanistan (need to stay close to the action)
Not really looking forward to that but....... If I can hang on two more years I'll be done with this working for a living shit.

Every thing on the dash is stock womb to tomb.....fuel, tach, speedo and yes, the push to start buttom is active.

For some reason it causes double takes from people, the car itself seems to draw a certain amount of attention but when they start to look away they hear it, the looks and comments from people are priceless.

I never would have thought of that, but of course the OEM ECU runs the dash. He must have it in there if he's using the dash, but I can't imagine it's running the engine.

What's driving the dash, then? Seems like you must also have the Honda ECU in there.

You do not need it, we did use the empty box for mounting purposes though. The EPS and VSS is sent to the ECU not from the ECU. As you know my mechanic did this work but, I do remember him discussing this with me. The EPS will produce an error code shortly after the key is turned on (3min i think) if not hooked up, I was told it was a real pain but so was I, because I wanted to keep what I consider a gorgeous dash and after all it's stock. The pulse signal is 150ppr or close because it picks up the signal right off of the gear teeth. The G.M. ECU sets the rev limiter until it's broke in, 3,000 for one hour of operation, then 4,000 for an hour and so-on until 5 hours of operation has been achieved.......then hang on, red-line is 7200rpm. Because the parts from Dakota Digital had not arrived yet we were running with inaccurate gauges and thought we had enough hours on the car, hence to the Dyno we went, it quit making power at 5200rpm. We still pulled 437 RWHP with over 400 lbs of tq. We are heading back to the Dyno to tune the Nos shot.

We used Dakota Digital tach filter to change the input from 8cyl-4cyl. then I used Dakota Digital pulse multilpier and 16 magnet (very small strontium mags, available from SDS,) at driveshaft speed to produce very high pulse count for factory digital speedo. that was a pain!

I'm sorry if my explaination is not clear, I ask my mechanic and tried to retain all I could to answer your question, if I failed I can hook you up with him??

No, that's fine, I got the gist of it. I thought the dash needed the Honda ECU to drive it, but apparently it doesn't.

Mike,
I know that he studied the schematics extensively and also learned a lot by going to the Dakota Digital site. I know he sure cussed about all of the magnets needed for the pulse sensor.

I didn't mean to dismiss the amount of work involved.
