I'll be in the market for a diamond ring before long, I can only fend off marriage for so long... but with artificial (but very real) diamonds able to be created, spending much on one for my girl seems stupid, on the other hand I know society has instilled in her she wants one, a big one... a big clear perfect one... what's a guy to do??? I guess I suck it up, throw my money away and then cry when diamond is being mass produced and used in everything imaginable for it's wonderful properties.

For a second I thought you meant "a pope", as in the guy with the funny hat, but then I remembered Pope's first name was Alexander.

Ask her if she would rather have the money for the ring or the wedding. But in the end, if it's the ring she wants, then buy it for her.

[QUOTE=MSRS2K,Dec 21 2006, 02:40 PM] So...
The point being, the article presents a pretty strong argument for the imminent crash of the diamond market.

my parents not the type to pressure me to do anything i'm not ready for

so since they're not pressuring me... i think they're telling me via the silent word that they don't think i'm ready for a serious lifelong commitment

PS - And i'm also thinking my exes agree
