Smile EDFC troubles...

Yes... I've searched... I found a few threads with other users having the same problem and nothing but more questions.

Basically, after a day of driving, my front left EDFC motor housing has spun until the wires are tight and it cant spin anymore. I have to rotate it back by hand, VERY obnoxious... and eventually I'm sure the wire will give out.

The motor housing does not spin when I make adjustments from the EDFC, it works like it should... it just seems to slowly rotate over the course of a few hours... I figured I'd post here and hope one of the locals has a fix for me to try. Any help would be much appreciated!

I've heard there are "brackets" to prevent this for other vehicles but that they are not available for our cars... any insight?

About to rip the damn thing out...

it sounds like the thing is getting lost (something wacky w/ the feedback) ...... are your grounding points good?

No, the body itself is actually turning... the motor works fine when I make adjustments via the EDFC control and I've checked to ensure the body doesn't move when I make changes (and it works as it should). The entire body rotates with the strut until the wires wrap around it and they become tight. I've had installed for quite some time, that particular one has always moved a little after driving... it's just becoming... annoying.

The actuator is spinning because the actual shock adjustment is at it's stop (read "out of range"). At that point, the motor spins it's own body since it can no longer turn the stem. This is real basic stuff since there's no mysterious hand reaching under your hood ..... unless you're Harry Potter.

If you don't want to hear any of this, just tell me, and I'll stop leading you to the light

I vote for harry potter, damn child of the devil!

if the shock is at the end of its range, shouldn't someone be able to observe this happening pretty easily...?

So... fix? LoL... by all means, lead me to the light. But how would one shock gets to the end of it's range without the others? Also... it turns without me making any adjustments... at all... I haven't changed my settings in weeks, and then at the end of every day when I get home... it's a tangled mess. Thanks for the help RT!
