Emissions testing
Well, I finally had to take my car in for emissions testing today. The biggest hurdle was getting the VIN. I didn't bring in the "time to renew" notice. And then I couldn't find the registration. Must have lost it when I pulled out the interior.
They have some sort of scanner that reads the VIN off the plate on the side of the door frame -- but oh yeah, I no longer have that plate on my car. The scanner also couldn't read the VIN number off the dash for some reason.
But I did have an insurance card with the VIN on it, and that was good enough.
The actual test was anticlimatic, since they just handed me the OBDII plug and told me to plug it in.

i just laughed and smiled when she FIANLLY, after 15mins, looked at the driver side and plugged it rite in.
then she tested it 3 times cause she was so pissed. the bouns footage was watching try to lower her tonage into my F1spec seat, and then get out of it.
My tech was also a bit surprised to find that the OBD connector was on the driver's side. I forgot that the 2002 cars are only now being tested, and the 2000/2001 cars had the OBD on the other side.
My tech just asked me to plug it in myself. We had already had enough of a conversation to establish that I knew what the OBDII connector was.
