Well, a car equipped with just a comptech kit should pass emissions. AEM EMS does not, hondata K-Pro does, and greddy emanage will (i do not recommend the emanage)

the e-manage is a piggy back right? so the stock ecu re-adjusts and tunes out the emanage settings correct?

i guess do i really need to get an engine management system to just run stock boost on a ctsc? can i get away with just using their management?

Are you planning to modify the Comptech Supercharger kit in any way? The stock ECU could be used for emissions testing and will pass in the default configuration. The DMV is simply plugging into the ODB2 port and checking for error codes. So if the CEL light is off and the port is working, you should pass.

Did you get the Comptech ESM along with the kit? Install the ESM using T-Taps for all but one of the leads. Pull the leads out of the T-Taps and solder or crimp a bridge wire for the white-yellow wire to run a stand alone ECU. This will allow you to swap back to the stock ECU "as needed."
