may be if i am wrong but my understanding is all hondas with obdII has knocking sensor which all works the same. everytime that sensor detects knocking it will flash cel.

i used to own 02 rsx-s and was having knocking issues. i took it to a shop in kirkland (carb something) and two techs were standing next to engine looking and hearing the motor and one was in driver seat doing dyno. two techs who were trying to figure out if there was any knocking said he couldn't hear or seen anything but cel was flashing. that sensor is extremely sensitive. if your cel didn't flash it might be something else. better check oil levels too.
