Default Final gears comment

Guys, I know these topics had been discussed soooo many times. but I just wanna hear what NW region drivers say about them.

can any one here w/ either 4.57 or 4.77 final drive installed tell me more about the differences
or maybe can give me a ride

also need to know where the most common place to get a 4.57 or 4.77 final gear

and what brand.

I have talked to A & J about the J's 4.77 final drive.. but Ben said that they are easy to break when you drive hard. ... something like that

so comment pls.

from what i've read in the track and competition forum, it's not a must-have mod. the gearing helps in some turns and hurts in others which overall ends up in perhaps slower lap times.

and the car's buzzy as it is with the stock gears. no thx, but good luck.

guys, thank you you all.

so the comment is.... 4.44, 4.57 or 4.77 .. those final drive will just help more on straight acceleration.

It's like.. Sometimes, when i keep my car in 2nd gear, trying to finish and exit the wide ass turn, but it already reaches 2nd gear redline when i'm not even finished exiting the corner. So it forced me to hold it there since shifting while turning is considered a dangerous action...

so... I dont' know if I want those final drive

If you are mostly tracking at Pacific Raceway then I would say "no" to final drive replacement. The only gotcha's at PR are exiting 3b and mid-turn for turn 9. Short shift for turn 9 and its a non-issue. 3b with tighter gearing would only aggravate the problem.

I haven't heard any discussion/consideration from the rest of the track-going locals related to this mod.

Tighter 5th and 6th gears would be nice though...

If you really want to simulate the effects of the shorter gears before taking the plunge, I've got some smaller diameter tires you can borrow to check it out ......... PM me if interested.
