Default HELP!

Lately since the weather has been getting colder when I start up my car in the morning it has some trouble starting and sometimes takes a little longer than normal to turn over. A friend told me this could mean that I need new spark plugs. Would an engine block heater fix this problem? Any help or suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!!

"Engine block heater"? That's for -20, not 40.

Actually my guess would be the battery. Are you still on your original battery?

I think it is just the ECU having problems adapting to the colder weather. Mine had a rough start for a little bit but the ECU finally figured it out.

Just give it some time and check back on the forum later.

Oh ok, I saw the engine block heater on hardtopguy.com, but the description didn't give very much information. Just sounded like it might be able to alleviate my problem.

I bought the car used in the middle of March and as far as I know it is still on the original battery.

I reset my ECU and my car doesn't sputter on start up. It also helped my MPG. Something to think about...

What steps did you take to 'reset your ECU'? I've heard a few different ways ...

Dude sounds like your battery. My car does that as well when it get really cold. Don't sweat it and if it becomes more frequent buy a new battery and see if it continues to happen.

Battery at costco should be $45 bucks and I believe they give you 5 or 10 bucks back if you give them your battery. It's a cheap fix.

I have had the same problem lately. I'm in agreement with Optikal on this one. The ECU is learning.
My original battery still has the blue ring with the red dot.

BTW, I bought and installed the OEM block heater. It was my Fifth mod. I have never used it.

It's easy...pull one fuse.

See instructions below:

And it doesn't reset your stereo...so your KUBE 93 radio station will stay in your presets.
