as long as you have the police report, your insurance company will cover you, however you might still have to pay your premium. and some insurance companies still keep it as record as not your fault claim.

i think you should call them and asked...

 

it sux and it's hopeless man... you can't prove anything. even when a car gets jacked the cops can't do much about it.

just don't park in ghetto areas like dexter. it's the risk you take and you lost in this case. else, get a beater car and drive that around.

 

i was in a hit and run in my eclipse i use to have. i filed a police report and i also had a witness. my insurence took care of it. luckly i had uninsured motorist so i only had to pay 100 to get everything fixed. for me it still sucked but it was better than paying my regular 500 charge.

One time i got my car(02 Nissan Spec V) side swipe while some dude in an old accord was backing up. I just stepped out of the shower when i heard a loud noise. I witness him hitting it. I took the plate number down and called the police. They came and told me if anyone else witness it and told they cannot pursue it since it was only me. Since then i have had no repect for the Tacoma Police. Not are the lazy of the bunch and their response time is that of a turtle. Only thing they are good at is giving out tickets imho.
One time in an unrelated event i called the police two of the came over and one refused to talk to me because he told me i filed a compliant against and guess what i filed another becuase he refused to help me...go figure!
anyways since my business gives me the right to have handicap placards, i never have to worry about peeps hitting me him the are well spaced for wheelchairs plus i get the best parking spaces.
