Default Little Stuff

Well, our S2000 is just over a week old and so far I have the following: behind the seat orginizer, a GBO, clear side-markers, front license plate mount, 7/8th windscreen, and a voodoo shiftknob. Maybe I should slow down for awhile

You must have spent a few bucks over at ricks2k.com. Half the fun of owning the car is personalizing it.

I also had the 3M PPK installed - minimize rock chips...

always cool to personalize, but all that little stuff adds up to very little, IMO.

for example...

7/8 windscreen... looks really weird cuz it sits so high, but i'm sure it works well. as an extreme opposite, i took out my stock windscreen and paid $$$$ to get tje
'00 secret compartnemtn cover which is a huge piece so it has no holes. stupid? yes. looks cool? yes. at least i got to sell the stock windscreen for $70. the car just look a lot more streamlined. sometimes if i cared more, i would think about painting that roll bar and console to body color. a lot or work. a lot of money, but that'd look pretty damn clean.

voodoo knob - at first, i thought it was awesome cuz the throw sare so short. then i realized how much better it is to shift at stock height w/itht he stock knob. s2000 engineers obviously gave it A LOT of thought to set it at the height with the particular knob whereas the voodoo was a result of the inspiration to do something different for the sake of being diferent. you just don't have as good of a leverage and feel for the gears when the knob sits so low. try shifting from 5th to 6th. cuz you have to press that much harder and force it to the lower right... you almost end up putting downward pressure on top of the knob... or in this car.. reverse. i'm sure it's not hurting the car, but it's an odd feelinga activating the reverse up/down spring mechanism. So a BIG no for me. i just spent the $140 on the OEM Ti knob. i love it.

3M is a must. i have it too and so should everyone else who drives this car on public roads. labor price is insane, but you get what you pay for here i guess cuz there are good installers and bad installers.

no front license plate. so none needed.

side markers are cool, but the JDM clear ones still stick out like a brick on the side of the car.

i highly recommend clear corner lenses from rick's if you got the f20c.

cheers,
