Default Need help ?

I know a handful of you out there will be able to tell me whats up ?........ This has happened maybe 4-5 times, when I am going through the gears hard (not redlineing, but right up there) I will shift from one gear to another and my foot will be all the way off of the clutch, but it sounds like I'm riding the clutch for a split second then it's like it finally engages. It only seems to do this when I'm shifting from 2nd to 3rd or 3rd to 4th and only when I'm hard on the throttle, normal everyday driving it has never happened. Any ideas/help would be appreciated before I call Main Street Auto in Monroe.......thanks.............. p.s. I'm not redlining it or hitting the rev-limiter

im no expert but it seems like the clutch is slipping at higher RPMS. Does this happen from 1st - 2nd? I expirience a little of this from 1st-2nd and someetimes 2nd -3rd. 3rd to 4th is kinda unusuall but it could be that theres alot of stress being put on higher rpms and at lower rpms, you drive pretty normal/conventional.

Does this only happen when you are banging thru the gears?
Is the behavior more prevalent when going uphill?

It sounds like that clutch slave cylinder orifice thingy.
Don't remember what the real name of it is to do a search ..... maybe clutch delay valve or some shit.
It's pretty much a zero $ fix if that's it.

it only happens when hammering through the gears. but only between 2 & 3 or 3 & 4. it sounds like i still have my foot on the clutch and it doesn't happen everytime . it's happened maybe 5x since owning the car (2 months). as far as uphill i can't say forsure, but when it happened lastnight, i was going uphill from a dead stop.

It is defintely the clutch delay valve. One of the first mods I did to my car was remove it and then adjust clutch play after that. Removing the snap ring itself was the worst part.

delay valve. it prevents from your LSD going KABOOOOOM! i hated it too and my friend thought my clutch was toasted at 15k miles til i told him about delay valve. you can remove it like fastfour said.

i kept mine in since i didn't really redline it much and i wanted to keep my LSD.

Clutch delay valve. Remove AP2 slave cylinder, replace with AP1 slave cylinder. Fixed.

THANKS for your help guys, that link to ClubHonda explains exactly what is happening. so my next question is WHY would Honda put that in if it prevents you from quicker shifts and what is the "LSD". .......... URban dk what does the AP1 do that the AP2 doesn't ?........ again THANKS everyone for your comments/knowledge. This is the first used car I've bought in 15yrs and I thought "boy did I just get screwed". So next time we hook-up for a drive, I owe you guys a beer.

LSD = Limited slip differential. pretty much when you launch it it will transfer power to the wheel that has most grip. and when turning outside wheel will turn faster than inner wheel. go www.howstuffworks.com and search it. they will show you how it works. and you want this trust me.

just like many other car makers they learn from mistakes and fix it. ap1 didn't have one and their LSD start blowing up everywhere. so Honda added that on ap2.
