just like many other car makers they learn from mistakes and fix it. ap1 didn't have one and their LSD start blowing up everywhere. so Honda added that on ap2.
I have 50 thousand miles on my stock ap1 diff, very hard aggressive miles, and many clutch drops......still going strong ......knock on wood........my shiz will probably blow up when I back it out of the garage now! I just have my diff fund for when and iff it does go!

Which had absolutely nothing to do with dipshits putting on super aggressive after market clutches and then doing 7000 RPM drops.

I can't hear you over the 7000 rpm!!!!
I removed mine at RT's house a while ago (thanks RT!) and it feels great. Just get a set of picks from Sears, a small bottle of brake fluid, and some patience and you're set. All the AP1's don't have this so just be a little mindful when you drive and you'll be fine.
My buddy has been complaining about the CDV in his '09 since he bought it but hasn't gotten around to removing it yet.
