boost solenoid?

does it happen when you rev it in neutral? My friend with a swapped wagon has a solenoid that sounded like clicking valves

ive never heard a TOB click.

does it change with engine speed or with over all speed. for instance if you revv the engine (when warm of course) at a stand still does the noise increase? and does it sound like loud typing on a keyboard or does it sound like knocking on a front door?

If you barely push the pedal and it goes away then it most likely the TOB and it's probably not worth doing anything about until you need a new clutch ..... in fact, the noise might go away at some point on its own.

If the noise doesn't go away until you go deep, then the problem is potentially tranny related (intermediate shaft bearing).

Doubtful it's Crank Walk but who knows.

that just sounds like a valve tick to me.

if its high in tone and is engine speed sensitive then id say yes.

also my dads car used to do this, after driving and stopping for a min the exhaust pipes would expand and go "clink clink clink" like a tin roof on a hot day. you never notice when its driving cause its relatively quiet but stopped or parked in the garage it was loud.

note, he had an old school legacy turbo

If the tick goes away when the clutch is pushed in... then it cant be anything related to the engine/valves etc. I'm with RT, its likely either the trans or TOB, certainly if the click frequency increases with the engine rpms. I've been through this with a few different cars, the S2000 recently.
