Default In need of some servies

Sorry for not being s2000 related, but trying to help a buddy out, hes got a 2000 Civic SI and the brake lights are dead. Tail lights turn on but no brake lights. If anyone has any expertise skills in this or know of any reputable shops to take the vehicle to have it serviced.

thanks

So I am assuming the bulbs have been checked and the fuses have been checked? This is usually an easy fix.

yea both fuse and bulbs were fine, searched along the wires to see if there were any exposed wiring. Wasn't able to check every inch going to attempt to further rip the car to see if the wiring somewhere is shorting. Was hoping it was something else other then the issue with the wire.

Hi,

Might I suggest using a digital multi-meter and try checking for voltage at the socket, and the pin junction. If there is voltage, it might just be a matter of cleaning the socket housing?

Yeah check that but also check all the fuses. Sometimes odd stuff goes out when a fuse blows even though you wouldn't think they are connected.

Also do your dash lights work? Dome light? Anything else stop working? And have you checked all fuses under the dash and hood? Because if its not the bulbs or the fuses it has to be the switch or wiring.

Once i had the same problem and the bulbs looked and tested good but i changed the bulbs and it fixed it. Cheap thing to change just so you dont waist your time...

There's a sensor on the brake pedal, it may be faulty.
