Default New Car

Hello

I'm not an expert at buying new cars but I tought I would throw this out for some friendly advice.

I'm in the process of selling the S due to personal reasons and I was looking into either an Infiniti G35, Mercedes C240 or Acura TSX. Does anyone have any opinions on these cars? Thoughts or suggestions? I hate to sell the S but I really must.

Also, any thoughts on financing vs leasing?

Thanks and sorry if this topics been discussed.

for the G35. good bang for the buck but infinity's record on reliability has been inconsistent.

TSX is a safe choice if you like the car but wouldn't be my first choice.

Mercedes...used to be a fan back in the 80's but their reliability has gone down the tubes since then...might as well buy a buick

When I drove the TSX I noticed that it had the same shift knob that the MY2002+ S2000s had. The gear box also felt really nice, so I assumed the TSX has the same gearbox as the S2000 and doesn't just share the same shift knob.

In that way, you will always have that small reminder from the S2000 that can also seat four.

And I would stay away from just about any Mercedes out there. Just ask Lig.

Do not buy any first year M-B. Period. Even my brother's SL500 (which definitely is not a 1st year model) has been less than stellar from a reliability standpoint. Not showstopping dead-by-the-side-of-the-road kind of stuff but little irritating things that have no place on a $50K or $100K car - or a Kia for that matter.

Right now I'm car shopping too. G35 Coupe, S4 and M3 are on my short list.

Personally I think this car shopping thing is fun.

TSX does not share the same gearbox as the S2000. The beauty of the S2000 is that it doesn't share any of its major powertrain parts with any other car.

I'd go for the G35 coupe if you want to swing a two-door. Solid power, comfortable, looks good. Reliable. Resale is good. Sounds good at low speeds.

Everything else is pretty much gray matter to me. They do what they need to do just fine.

Car shopping is great fun, but only if the car that will put a smile on your face will also do the same for your financial advisor whoever that may be.

What is even more fun for me and some of the others here is that you need to add about $7-10K on top of the purchase price to dress up the car appropriately straight outta the dealership.

Pimps don't roll stock and pimps go name brand all the way to the bank and back.

Hey Lig

Hmmmm I really like the G35 but the only problem is that Oregon's got 1 dealership and they suck. I would stay away from BMW. I use to own them and about every month it was in the shop. My friends always gave me a hard time about why my car was in the shop. Finally I got rid of it to get the S.

I haven't heard anything good about Audi...... I really like the Mercedes new 240 with the Kompessor but it sounds like there aren't too many fans here.
