New s2k owner!
Picked up a 2005 Suzuka blue s2k from a dealership.. Can anyone recommended a dealership to get my fluids changed? Heard bad reviews about a few of them so not sure which one to go to.. I basically need a brake and diff flush.. Also I search the forum for recommended dealerships in the area but the threads were a few years old.. Thanks!

Welcome! Spets is definitely right, it is a very easy DIY job. In fact I imagine if you plan to be semi active in the s2k community (I.e. Attending meets and activities) you could probably get some very good guidance at the September tech day... But that is up to. The host

These cars are pretty reliable, I would think about saving some money and cancelling that extended warranty.
ASK the dealer what kind of fluid they will put into the diff. If it is VTM-4 fluid, is is made for a CR-V and it WILL FCUK UP the differential. Honda doesn't have a "Honda Brand" diff fluid for these cars.

Yeah be careful and demand they use the correct stuff. I agree with cancelling the warranty and just using that money on buying some tools and fluids to do it yourself. Anyways welcome!

agreed with the diff fluid.
Theres a LOT of debate about what to use brand wise, but al lot of use use AMSOIL, Alamasol or that lubrication engineers product or Redline. Personally i didnt like the way that amsoil felt but some people like it.
like SPETS said, if they insist on using VTM 4 fluid, crv shit or anything thats less than 90 weight take your car elsewhere. or provide your own fluids and just have them do the labor.
if you ever need to do it yourself, consider self serve garage down off of meeker. its only 10 bucks to do an oil change and you could easily do the diff/trans in 30 mins if you work quickly. they have a nice drive-on lift that is pretty quick.

My friend owns a shop.. I could always have him do it.. What's the actual weight of the fluid I need? And how much do i need? He said they will put the right stuff in after I mentioned dealers putting in the wrong fluid..

Is this ok?? I don't know the advantages of 90 vs 140..
Also my mechanic recommends gm synchromesh in the tranny..

GM syncromesh will work fine for the trans. 75-90 will work fine for regular driving in the diff, if you plan on autocross, track driving then I'd step up to 75-110.
need 1 qt bottle for the diff and 2 qts for the trans.
