PDX : Time for a Drive!!
I'm organizing a BBQ...so someone else organize the drive
How about a BBQ on the 14th or 21st of September....we can have it at my place. It's a fairly small yard, but plenty of room for the keg
PM me with which dates for you folks....once a date is set, I post an official thread with the details

I would love to go on another.
Not sure where to "lead" to... There is a really pretty & twisty drive up to the Mt. St. Helens viewpoint (~120 ish miles each way from PDX) at Windy Ridge. It is a favorite for Sportbike riders throughout the NW. The downside is that it's relatively far, and with over 60+ miles of very twisty/very clean roads it is not uncommon to find yourself behind a slow group of cars. While that's not really a problem with the motorcycles to pass in short distances, it would be with a group of S2000's.
Anyone have any ideas on different locations???????

Nighttime drive...There aren't any guard rails on most of these road, big drops...a nighttime drive in not a great idea for getting all 10 cars back home in one piece especially given the pace this group seems to go.
As a side note and some personal history, I laid my motorcycle down (first and only time) on this route last August. I came within 10 ft of dropping into a pretty serious valley near the viewpoint. The bike had some pretty serious damage, I didn't excluding loosing a little pride. Even after all of that, I still think this is the best and most fun road in the area.
My wife and I were talking about making the drive either on labor day weekend, or the weekend following, if you guys want to come and make it an event; I am all for it. The way that works best it to leave Portland no later than 7 am; I know that's early for the young guys. By leaving early you beat most of the tourist traffic on the good part of the route, but no guarantees. There is a spot to have lunch/breakfast at the viewpoint, and then return home by about 1 pm. Additionally, you will have to buy a ~$5 Forest Pass at the Viewpoint if you want to be parked there for very long.
You would want to bring your girlfriend/spouse on this drive; it is a goregeous viewpoint, and amazing to see the Mt. St. Helens effects even 12 years later. Oh yeah, Bryon you can bring your boyfriend if you want, sorry I forgot about you and your lifestyle.

I'm in. The weekend after labor day works best for me. No problem getting out of PDX by 7:00am. I'm an ealy riser. It just means I won't be able to wash my car before we go.
