Quick alignment question

BTW, Rob runs 285's too, what lame a$$e$ don't

Lame asses like me that have offsets reco'd by the tire rack
(hope Jim@tirerack doesn't see this) I don't think I could fit even a 275 in the rear with SSR offsets unless I did some crazy neg camber.
Thanks for your input about toe-in. That's pretty much exactly what Jerry said.
Yes I'm lowered now thanks to s2kjdub. (thanks again Jason)
If I try doing a little under -2 in the rear.. say -1.75, would that mean I should run -.75 in the fronts?

John, I always get just a touch of Toe-In on the front. I'd call it 0+ just to avoid toggling through zero due to geometry changes and the normal amount of play in the system.
Are you lowered? If so, go a little less camber on the rear than -2.0 (maybe -1.65 if you're going w/ -1.35 in the front) since you get neg camber earlier in the stroke when lowered ......... unless you need the excessive neg camber to clear some ill fitting wheels or some sh!t

Oh, and you already knew I was a lame a$$ with my 245s....

I like Ray's thought on the "0+" front toe-in. I've spec'd that ever since he suggested it to me. The rear camber thing makes sense, except that if you are lowered then you probably have stiffer springs to compensate and therefore less travel, so would it really be that big of a deal?

), hence the suggested "static camber cheat"

problem is, once you get to about 1.5 inch of compression travel (as measured from stock ride height) you hit the "knee" on the plot line and it goes way non-linear because the shorter upper a-arm angle is getting steeper way faster than the longer bottom arm.
Um Ray, that whizzing sound is your post going right over my head.
anyways...
so I'm going to europa with this.
Front
-1.25 degrees Camber
0+ degrees Toe
6 degrees Caster
Rear
-1.75 degrees Camber
0 degrees Thrust Angle
3.0 mm total Toe In......that would be 1.5 mm right and 1.5 mm left for a total of 3.0mm
no one chimed in about the rear toe-in so I'm assuming the 1.5 mm right/left sounds good

my experience with lowering... i go to randy at omni per ray's recommendatino and he's been great.
i'd say i got less than a finger gap on the rear. not sure how much of a lowering job that is. maybe 1.5"? randy tells me that i'm limited in neg camber in the rear meaning i can't go less angled than a 2.2 or so in the rear due to the lowering. so for example, we can spout off great sweet alignment numbers all day, but a 1.75 in the rear is out of the question for me and may be for you. not sure if this is a your mileage may vary thing.
and comparing tire wear between your car and Rob's is gonna be tough. not only is he running wider wheels, but more importantly, he's laying down about 100hp more than you and given your renton mod budget, you're not running street tires as soft as his (S-03s). when i ran the 255s with the LMs and OZs on stock pwr, tire wear wasn't bad at all as a daily driver. i went thru new tires as in i bought S-03s, PS2s with the wheels and then sold them before i got a chance to even think about tire wear you know what i'm laying down?
even with the S now as a weekend crap toy, tire wear is insane. i'm burning rubber chunks RT style cuz it's EZ to spin the tires on a WOT romp in first and second gear even with RT style 10.5s in the rear.
and about tire fitment on your SSR GT3s... they're the same offset as the OZ IIIs, and BBS LMs... 255s are the widest you can go because even with 255s in the rear, it's gonna rub without a bit of modification. but then it also depends on the tires you use. so wha ti'm trying to say is 275 is out of the question.
and as for your comments in the other thread, dude, i had no idea you were so miffed that i out bid your broke ass for Tom's OZ IIIs. and guess what, i ponied up for a new set of S-03s to replace them ghetto Yokos that came with it and then with the WRS2K brand managed to sell it for more than i bought it so yous stilll couldn't afford it... i got the ice cream and you can't have none...
don't hate the player... hate thyself you little baby orangutan you.
