Default Speedfactory block build

Anyone have experience with speedfactory building a s2000 block for boost? Thinking about going local or just stick with laskey or inline pro

Kevin is the engine builder at Speedfactory. I had him rebuild an already sleeved/built motor I picked up from a now known scammer which wasn’t done right. I will spare you the details on that, but I basically had to have Kevin disassemble the short block, re bore the sleeve to accommodate oversize pistons, had him inspect everything and assemble the motor with the head I provided. I thought Kevin was easy to work with and was quite knowledgeable, I felt like I was in good hands during the process. Turn around wasn’t quick at all though. These guys are busy and they compete in drag racing so about once every other month it seems they are leaving for about a week at a time. My "build" took about 8 weeks if I recall. That was back in early spring of 2013. It may be less busy now, not sure.

Batbite motor/set up ran strong. He has left the state last year though and seems to have fallen out of touch, so I couldn’t tell you how the engine is holding up. Mine on the other hand isnt doing to well these days. It always used a lot of oil since break in and has since increased with what looks to be some bit of cylinder scoring. So I have been out of the game these past few months and probably will be for some time yet. I spoke to Kevin about this and we basically came to the conclusion that my motor may have not been broke in right. I did have some wiring issues and two bad coil packs which were rectified eventually, but fear that this did contribute to washing the cylinders at a crucial break in period, so I tend to think this was on me Anyway, having said this, I would consider Kevin again for engine building. I may anyway after I get some funds together to again rebuild this damn motor.

im boosted with speed factory. all work done by kevin. but i dont really consider my block or head being built tho. i just installed a head gasket and studs, kpro components, fuel components and tune. my car been running for 15K on boost. these guys are legit. but they can be pretty busy at time's tho.

i would highly recommend them. they been in bizness for while now. and they do track there cars all the time. they got 7 and 8 second car. these guys are pretty legit with there customer relations too. if i ever needed anything. they always seem to try to fit me in with there schedule.
