It's obvious to anyone who actually has tracked their car. There is no public road on the continent as fun as Infineon, for instance. And even PR and Spokane are way more fun than Chuckanut or the Mt Baker road or the St. Helens road, etc.

So when you say otherwise, it just indicates you don't know what you are talking about.
Really? thats facinating, I hadnt thought of it like that before

But wait a minute, I never said "otherwise" so I guess your just assuming too, wow allot of assumptions in this crowd, you guys need a hobby or something

I've been at PR, PIR, Spokane and Laguna but none of them compare to Mt. St. Helens.... The reason. They are DIFFERENT.

Race tracks are exactly that, race tracks. The Helen's drive (if you're lucky enough to do it, and windy ridge is open, AND there's no traffic is absolutely exhilarating!

My theory on the difference between something like Helen's and a race track is this:

Racetracks: The course is static, every lap is the same (assuming weather), the focus is then on your times/car/driving/other cars.

Mountain runs: More dangerous and a non-static environment (there could be a rocks/trees/cars/bikes around the bend and the pavement has for more undulations) and thus the focus is on the road, the turns the driving. Doing anything with the added degree of danger (be it injury or police or both) is more exhilarating for many people. For these people, getting a similar experience on a race track will require more than a lapping day, most likely wheel 2 wheel competition.

As far as scenery... I grew up in Utah... I know what mountains and snow caps and trees look like. I wanna go fast (not dangerously so). If I wanted to drive slow then meetup somewhere and stare at my car in a parking lot I would have bought a VW, but I didn't, so I don't.

my $.02

Or you could have bought an "exotic" and go hang out at the Redmond Town Center.

Oh here we go again another ass-umer

Go on two and recomend not one in January ...and see if your impression changes Try any other drive and I think you might give it a more accurate assesment instead of an assumption.
My statement has nothing to do with an assumption. I went on one of those drives and it sucked. I "assumed" it would be fun, I went, and it licked. We've also spoken in person about tracking cars and from what I remember you said you had never been on a race track. Again, no assumptions.

No denying that. I once spend a glorious day with the top down, in the sun, midweek, driving up the PCH from Cambria to Carmel. Wonderful.

And the next day I drove at Laguna for the first time.

While they are very different experiences, there's no question in my mind which one is more exciting, or even "bang for the buck". But I'm glad I've done both, because they were both great days.

Opinions.

Everyone has one and nobody thinks their's stink.

Y'all whine more than a woman on her time of the month.
