Default tires

anyone running this tire size in the rear? as i recall it essentially changes your gearing to a 3.90 rear end. i was hoping to ride in a car with these tires to see what its like, if the rear is too splashy or it yeilds way to little tq.

if anyone can hook me up with a ride or an opinion that would rule.

i live in everett and spend time in renton....let me know if you can help. Thanks

That's a taller tire, right? I believe I was running something along that size when I bought my car. I didn't feel any difference when going back to stock specs.

yah its alittle taller little wider but not by much. it gives you essentially the same gearing as going from a 4.10 to a 3.90 rear end without investing massive buko-bucks on something you arent sure about.

that's a pretty tall tire for the width, why not go with a 40 series? What size rim? worried about rubbing at all?

I have 265/35-18 rear tires (225/40 fronts). I just changed them over the other day from a 225/40-16 (OEM AP1 wheels) and the handling is GREATLY improved (obviously ) but rides alot rougher now.

I was kind of curious myself what other rear tire size would work?

Has anyone tried this yet?

for me its about simulating ahving a 3.90 rear end. i was wondering if going to a longer gear would yeild a little better mileage yet not hurt performance too much.

then i thought about the affects of the rear tire being taller/wider ect.
