Default tranny/diff whine

hello folks,

i got a whine coming from the car, and is the most audible (to me) when slowing down from 10-15mph or so to stop. the whine is speed sensitive (pitch lowers as the car slows down, or will remain constant if held at a constant speed) and it will make the noise if crusing in neutral, in gear and clutch depressed, or in gear.

thoughts? i know the car has a noisey diff, but my previous s2000 didn't make this whine. i thought it might be the diff and hoping that the problem might have been a dry diff, changed the fluid. no affect.

thoughts?
