anyone know the answer to the "when does the oil light come on" question? im curious too is it at 3 qts....1qt? i know hondas have the light come on really late but just how late?

It's a pressure switch, not a volume switch.

And the answer is that it comes on too late to do any good, generally speaking.

Some cars do have an oil level indicator but not ours. Ours is an oil pressure (or lack there of) switch.

Right but I think the consistent high rev cooked the oil down to starvation too many times without him keeping it in check, and thats what caused the failure. Not smart enough to shift to 6th and not smart enough check the oil.

with us going to the track a lot, I agreed that any honda engine should be able to survive the 7500rpm running...

and this dude probably have low oil to begin with.
