I can recommend a very experienced Honda tuner familiar w/ EMS if you're interested.
I'd like to know who here is any good with an EMS and the S2000. Every since TF in Portland went under, I'm lost...

I used to have the startup issue, TF fixed that one for me at all operating temps, about 1.5 cranks and it's running, a little longer than stock but very workable. Prior to that it was 4-10 cranks on the EMS.

I also have a slight backfire between gears at WOT but I have no cat.

EMS takes a few extra cranks cause it looks for the Crank Angle Sensor during startup. Call Crescent at 360-510-6901. He's a long time friend and a great honda tuner.

carbconn tuned the ems. The shop I go to is sending me back to get it re-tuned and to get the modrify(sp?) so my cluster will again start to read temp. Yeah, I was on the starbucks run and again no, I still have my cat and I am not running a test pipe. LOL

Nah, I know you're not running a testpipe. It just smelled like it.
I had mentioned Crescent to you as well.

They've been gone for almost a year now.

It was a mess. They pretty much called me up and said come get your car" This was after 3 years, a rebuild, new tranny, I don't know how many clutches and thousands of dollars going in to tuning with them.

They ended having my car longer than I did and then all of the sudden, done come get it and, oh by the way, we aren't totally done but we'll make it drivable before you get here.

Man, if you're putting that much fuel through your cat don't plan on it lasting much longer... i suggest retune, stat.

My Miata does similar things to yours, and i'm slowly tuning it out, but it won't get a cat again until all that shit's sorted for just that reason. It's bad cycle. cat clogs/melts, throws off A/F, you retune for bad car settings, etc etc. Boo.

Chris, when we spoke on the drive. (I may be mistaken) but didn't you say that they tuned it for turbo in your future anticipation of getting this? If so, that would explain your issue. they have tuned the AFR's for turbo which is too rich for your current N/A set up.

Chris, close. I said that I initially bought the EMS thinking about going turbo down the line. They tuned it for only the parts I already had in the car. It was their way of making me come back everytime I got a new part. lol I've decided to not go turbo though ... at least not for now. I'm thinking of junking my EMS and picking up an Apexi NEO for now. lol
