4th of July
saturday morning, 4th of july i played bball all morning with my buddies.
2pm, i hit the road traveling from long island heading to manhattan. got there with the quickness, less then 30 minutes.
found a parking spot on 24th and 10th where i met 2 of my buddies.
we walked over to the west side highway which was going to be shut down for the macys firewroks display.
anyway, there is a bike trail which is right on the water the runs up the whole west side. they only allowed people in a small 200ft section, there was probably only 300 of us there.
they stopped letting people thru at 4pm, then barricaded us in.
everyone else on the whole bike trail had to leave and go 50feet back onto the street which had a good view but many tall bushes in the way.
the 300 peeps in this closed off section had theeeeeeee best view in manhattan.
it was close to a 6.5 hour wait but well worth it.
we couldnt leave to get food or anything the whole time.
the police decided to bring a porto potty to us so that wasnt bad.
i had no suntan lotion, no umbrella for the sun, no hat, no food, no water and no chair.
we spent all this time sitting and standing on the floor getting sunburnt.
was awesome. lol
young people next to us were awesome and wanted to give us food but we turned it down. some kid did give us free bottles of gatorade which we def did not turn away. lol.
it was like a scene in woodstock.
anyway, here are my shots.
not the greatest, i think i was a little overwhelmed with the amount of fireworks.
there was no break between each explosion so i couldnt get clear shots without remnants of dissapearing fireworks.
enjoy.
