Default Bought a new goodie

So I bought this new garage for my S2000, but my wife keeps blabbing on about something called a "house" that comes with it. I realized what the "house" thing was for..... tol hold my growing collection of photographic gear!

In all seriousness, this is my first attempt playing with a strobe off camera. So I brought my gear along when we were visiting the lot yesterday afternoon.

C&C?

Thanks for the congrats!

But what do you guys think of the picture? I Think my flash was a *little* under power for the shot.

I wanted the light to be soft though because the sign was a little glossy and easily caught a reflection so I bounced it off an umbrella. I probably could have gotten more power out of a the flash directly, but I didn't think to try it.

Thoughts?

It's kinda hard to critique a sign which has very little depth and almost two dimensional. You used an umbrella? I'm pretty sure you couldve got the same results with a diffused on camera flash at 1/32nd. Go forth and shoot some more!

Congrats on the new house!

I think you should have geled the flash. Other than that it looks fine. And congrats on the house too!

Hmmmm which gel would you have recommended? I've got a bunch, but I didn't thought they were mainly for matching tungsten and flourecent (sp?) in various degrees. Which gel would one use to balance to daylight?

Since it was sunset, I just think it would have looked better if the sign were warmer to match. Maybe not quite CTO.. I dunno. If you got that free Roscoe set, you could experiment.
