Default dual monitor calibration for windows

i'm using two monitors and the color difference between the two was HORRENDOUS!! So I got the spyderpro monitor calibration and I calibrated the monitors.

THE PROBLEM is that by default, windows XP only allows you to use one profile and applies it to both monitors. If the monitors are not the same or in my situation both were identical but had different color characteristics, you'd end up with one good looking monitor and the other is screwed.

THE SOLUTION, MS has a downloadable utility called "Microsoft Color Control Panel Applet" which you can get here

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

and this allows you to chose different profiles and associate it with that instance of the video card for the monitor.

AHHHHHHHHHHHH.. now I can go back to work

Thanks for the linkie but I only have a need for one calibrated monitor. My 2nd monitor is full of tool tabs and such, never an image.

Why not have one monitor for your tools and palettes and just span them?

I am spanning the two monitors and the color difference between the two was so bad, that if you put an application so that its split between the two monitors. you can tell the color differences.

that to me is extremely annoying

In my case, I need two monitors calibrated because I have a 20" wide screen at my desk but often need to work from the laptop's integrated screen.

Thanks for the link! Now, where's your website...
