Default HD camcoder vs slim camera w/720p recording

To start off, I just got the modifry camera mount and was thinking to get one of these HD camcoder.

Sony HDR-SR5 <---- best price I found online, which also takes pictures at 4mp.

But someone mentioned that those hard drive camcoders have its hard drive protective measure and it shuts off when it shakes or vibrates too much (i.e. on the camera mount going over rough bumps).

Does anyone have experience with one of these hard drive camcoder?
I thought having 40g of memory storage will be real nice.

then, I stumble through these mini gadgets,

Canon TX1 <--- greymarket? I think its a steal!

Lumix TZ5 <----- never owned a Panasonic camera's before but they look more easy operating then canon.

these slim size camera can record 720p resolution videos which I think is very good for a small cameras like these. and I thought, with its slim design, it will be real nice to have in your pocket just on daily basis. It will be very convinient. Although, I will have to purchase number of big memory cards if I want to record video clips.

What do you think?
