^ That's probably because you have the luxury of seeing light there (an exposure with the sunset exposed correctly has everything else as 100% black). You may be reacting to my processing which I now think was a little heavy handed on the foreground. HDR tends to do that if you're not careful because you can create images with much more tonal range than human eyes can see.

The photos that were blended together were too far apart exposure wise, covering too much area with no good exposure resulted in clipped highlights and clipped shadows.

I guess the proper thing to call that image is tone mapped...






But I will look at the bright side it could be about flare or even worse selective coloring
