If this is not the right place for this, Im sorry.

I need to know how to make one layer show through a hole in another. Every tutorial i find isnt quite what I need, and i dont know what to call what Im trying to do. I think Im trying to make a clipping mask, but not sure of the steps. If anyone is versed in Illustrator CS2, PM me and I will tell you exactly what Im trying to get accomplished. TIA
