Default Looking for a new light meter..

Hi guys,

I am looking to purchase a new light meter and have no experience with them being that I shoot almost everything under ambient light conditions.. Does anyone here have experience with them and could possibly make a recommendation? The meter would have to be both reflected as well as incident and would be utilized in a studio setting.

Thanks,
Norman

I haven't used any of the combo or incident-only meters but my Minolta Spotmeter F is an awesome reflected-only spot meter. Back in my film days I used it successfully for in-home studio shots (sync'd with PC cords), both using the actual object surface or swapping in a grey card.

Posting because I've been thinking about picking one up myself. They seem so expensive on B&H

Thanks Rice... I was looking at this one with the transmitter as well as the Sekonic L-758DR but as Poindexter stated... they are expensive!!! Which is why I wanted to hear what others were either using or had experience with. Thanks for the input.

There is a plug in module that can make the low/mid end models fully wireless. It makes the unit about $200 less than the 758DR if you don't require all the other additional features.

I use a minolta incident flashmeter, though rarely. Check on ebay for a used unit. Sometimes I just use another camera body.
