Default Need help on picture touch-up's

Hey guys, I'm a real camera newb and I've tried searching for this answer but I'm still really confused. How do you guys get your pictures so detailed and clear (I'm assuming you guys are using some type of software). Is there any easy way to touch up a picture to make it look really nice and detailed? I've talked to a few people here who have posted pics of cars and stuff and asked them what camera they're using, some people are using cameras that are more lower end then mine, yet their pics come out really really nice, I'm almost sure it's gotta be some type of software that is being used to clean pics up. If you guys could please tell me what are the best and easiest programs to use I'd appreciate it. For example this picture here is straight off my camera from the Spugen BBQ in Socal this past weekend... Can anyone possibly make this look cleaned and more detailed?

My camera settings are set on "Auto" and I've read many sites giving the Canon SD870I "Best compact camera of 2007" that's why I bought the thing, I love it, but I want better detailed pics.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

That's not *exactly* straight off the camera. It's being hosted on photobucket which will lead to a certain amount of unwanted compression.

Try creating a free Flickr account and uploading it there. Photobucket has also stripped the Exif info which may be helpful in determining the problem.
