Default New Purchase

Well I went out and decided when you come across something good you should get it. Well I have been salivating over the Nikon 18-200 VR lens that NO ONE ever has in stock. Well I went to a local camera shop and guess what they had 1 left. Well I had to buy it. I haven't had a chance to get out and test it but I will for sure today and post back. From what I have seen and read from the reviews I am going to be happy. Anyways just thought I would share.

ive been considering this lens. seems like its range will cover most situations. the only problem i have with it is that it isn't very fast. i find myself shooting in low light situations a lot where a faster lens would be immensely helpful. i guess for a lens to have that range and an f/2 aperture it would be big and heavy though. the 18-200 seems great as a walkaround, vacation lens though.

Do [Edit: you] experience any zoom creep w/ the 18-200?

Sorry still learning how to read & write.

He will, when he point the lens down. The only and major design flaw, otherwise a great travel, walkaround lens. With VR, it is relatively fast even at f/5.6.

IS or VR will not stop motion.

Yes, they won't. But for still, low light situation, this VR lens will do a decent job. For sports, indoor or low light, this lens will not stack up against the big boys, e.g. 70-200 f/2.8vr, 200 f/2vr and etc.
