The reason I suggest the s90 is because of the sensor and the lens

12mp on a TINY (1/2.3") sensor is just gonna give terrible noise performance. It has a slow f/3.5 to f/5.8!!!! lens.

the s90 is a 10mp over sized sensor(1/1.7") now that sounds better. it has a FAST f/2.0 lens

Who needs more than 6-8mp on a p&s I bet the optical resolution of that lens is less

I guess it depends on what ur looking for. If you want something small and cheap get the sd780 you want something that takes a decent picture get the s90.

Which ones? The bad ones? or the good ones?

That's a really hard question to answer because cameras don't take photos photographers do. But if u want the easy answer... most of the pictures on this forum are taken with DSLR so no neither point and shoot will take "as good" photos. But the s90 will be closer than the sd780
