What do you guys think about the Manfrotto-Bogen - 57.5" Tripod Model: 190XDB. I saw this on Bestbuy. Is this a good tripod? Inputs and advices?

What camera do you have? What lenses are you using? What do you plan on shooting?

That's the evolution of the 3001 series, an excellent inexpensive design but a bit heavy.

If I read the specs right it has thumbscrew locks? I hate twist collars and thumbscrews. I went through several tripods before getting my 3021Pro with flip-lever locks. Love it.

Some people here prefer collars. I never liked them. I needed the cross-arm design of the 3021 (something the 190XDB won't do). Know thyself and choose wisely.

bogen 055xprob i think is the model number. you can get that from bhphotovideo right now for 149.
it's supposed to be an amazing tripod, especially for the money.
pair it with the 488rc2 head and you should be good to go.

not the lightest setup but it doesn't seem like you go hiking with it. should be perfect for you.

make sure you factor in the weight, later down the line you might want to upgrade to bigger/heavier glass and battery grip so make sure that thingie will able to hold it up

How good is this tripod and ball head you are recommending and compared to others around this price range? I saw it on BHphotovideo for $193 bucks. Is it solid and durable to last me for a while? I just need something to place my D80 w/17-55mm f/2.8 to shoot on for couple of long exposures. Nothing to fancy.
