Kodak DC240 (1.3MP) back in 1999, then to a Sony W1 (5MP) in 2004, then to a Canon XSI (12PM) in 2008.

Early 2002 I think,

Olympus C4000

I had a few crappy point and shoots between the Olympus (lens got stuck inside and refused to come out, which in turn, burnt out the motor)

Moved onto a Sony H5

Then I moved to a 30D, and recently to a 1DsIII.

Epic journey, with epic spending!

1999. Olympus CAMEDIA C-2500L.

Think I purchased my first Nikon D1x in 2001, but can't really remember the year. It's all a blur.

Shortly after that, sold the following:

Nikon F4s
Mamiya RB67 (which I now really wish I had kept!)
Mamiya 7 rangefinder

Since then, I've owned several Nikon D1x's, Nikon D2x, Nikon D200, moved to Canon in 2006 (?) and currently have 2 Canon 5Ds, a 40D and a 5D Mk II. Also have a Canon G9 and G10.

Kept my 4x5 field camera and still shoot it from time to time. Maybe one day I'll get a digital back for it, but I need to shoot wide and the crop factor is hideous. Don't want a scanning back.

ETA: oh wow, just rememebered that I, too, had a Kodak DC40 I bought in 1995 or 1996. Forgot all about that thing!

Nikon Coolpix 990. Can't recall the year but I got a great deal on it, only $1,400. Ha ha ha. But even today there are few digital cameras with a better built-in macro capability. I could just barely print a high-quality 8x10 with the output (most subjects, not all). And it looked really funny with a Nikon teleconverter, made for it, attached.

Canon G3 was my first, still being use once in a while. Currently, my main camera is the Canon 7D. I use it daily after I get home taking picture of my 4 and 7 year old children.

First real camera was a 35mm Nikon N70. Went through college without a digital camera.

Summer of 2005 moved to NYC and thought that would be a good time to get a digital camera. Got a Nikon S1 Point-and-Click.

Fall of 2008 purchase a Canon XSi, kit lens and 250mm lens. Love it!
