I just spoke to tawndra Calhoun from mohawk,Husky, they are test marketing the 94 in calgary, if the response is good they will move it around to other areas, you cant just add more ethanol, to bring up the octane ,it has different base stock ,is blended and tanked completely separate from the 92 octane stuff ,so you guys in calgary start driveing harder and buy more fuel, we are depending on you

I'm a little confused about this "test market" thing they're talking about. I thought that 94 was a normally available fuel at all Mohawk stations here in Calgary up till about 4-5 years ago. Then, it just vanished. Maybe my Alzheimer's is setting in.

AFAIK, the market for Mohawk 94 demand died down after rumors of engine damage with ethanol based fuels, which is why they pulled the 94 octane. The rumor stemed from a report of engine damage using Methanol additives, and people assumed methanol == ethanol. I remember seeing signs a few years ago advertising "eliminate engine damage - buy ethanol-free fuel here" at several stations.

No worries about using a lot of it, I'm on my 3rd tank of 94 now... and with it so close to Race City, I'll be filling up there on track days. I use like 3 tanks of gas on a track day . Lot of the beyond guys are going there now too. I just hope they don't run dry lol!
