I'm pumped to see the footage we get with the GoPro. I was at West Ed on Sunday and took a peek at the booth outside that sports store. Some very cool hardware there! I would love the helmet Cam for some of the skiing I do in the winter!

Anyhow, I think the drive to Miette Hotsprings looks like a good one to do on Saturday afternoon. There are a few other drives but they are much further away down towards Bnaff.

What is everyone's thought on opening the drive up to other car forums? I'm thinking the more the merrier but I'm open to suggestions!
to many cause draws attention.

Last year when we took 1a to canmore we had just over 14 cars and that was a enough to handle on a "cruise"

^ I may have a porsche boxter and Rx8 come on board. figured it's okay because one's a 2 seater convertible, and the other is like a younger brother whom we can tease and make fun of.

RockyMountainS2K:
Good to know, I'm not quite sure how many cars we will have out for this but hopefully we get around at least 5 or 6. I think you have a good point on making sure we don't draw too much attention. I'm sure 5 or 6 cars would cause a bit of stir in small town Jasper!

Wildo:
Sounds good, hopefully they can make it!

The list as it goes right now:
1. AndrewC
2. Wildo
3. Saaboteur
4. RockyMountainS2K
5. ColdRSX (tenative)
6. Handsome Rob (tenative)
7. Blixhav (tenative)
8. Wildo's Boxster/RX8 (tenative)

Looks like we've got four S2000s for sure! This is gonna be a blast!

^That's going to be a lot of fun Vince!

My parents have a condo in maui, in south kihei to be exact, I have done the whole volcano biking thing and it is pretty cool! Make sure you guys also take a snorkeling trip out to molokini, it's pretty amazing and if the wife allows it I'd also recommend a day of deep sea fishing! Enjoy!
Cool, thanks for the tips! I think we may try Molokini, should be neat. I don't wear contacts, but I've ordered some specially so that I can see while we are snorkeling.

Very much looking forward to the trip now. Our wedding is this Saturday! Unfortunately, last Sunday, an inattentive driver managed to 'not see me' in the AMG as I was stopped, waiting to merge onto 137 Ave from 50 Street. Now the AMG needs a new trunk and bumper skin, minimum. Some of you guys may recall that I just had the entire car painted in May, and one of the main reasons for that was to have it ready for my wedding this Saturday. Can't believe that crap!!!

So the past few days I've been trying to rediscover my zen so that I am chilled out for the wedding...thinking about Maui has helped a lot!

Anyway...sorry for the tangent...

If anyone is going to buy a GoPro, I highly recommend pointofviewcameras.ca . The kiosk in the Mall wants $370 for the base camera (with the various basic mounts). I told the guy at the kiosk that there were better deals online, and he said that "oh, you have to pay shipping" but that he would ask his boss if he could do anything. The response was to throw in a $20 value in the wall charger or car charger.

For $425, I got free shipping from pointofviewcameras, plus an extra battery, an 8 gig memory card, the roll bar mount, both the wall and car chargers, a tripod mount plus of course the base kit with the camera and the basic mounts. No brainer. They even sell the base camera and throw in a 4 gig memory card for $350 including shipping. Can't beat that.

Where do you mount the camera if there's no roll cage? Head rest?

I think the motorsport kit comes with a heavy duty suction mount. If you are only looking for the kit (motorsport HD), I think Speedtech Calgary had it posted on Beyond for $299 (intro price).
