First impressions of the 2004
Finally got behind the wheel today of a 2004 S2K. Felt extremely similar to my 2000 however without doubt this thing pulls much better at under 5000 RPM.
It pulled nicely at 3500RPM in 6th gear.
Also seems a little quieter however I'm not one to judge as I'm used to my HKS and header set-up.
We had the 17 inch stock rims with hankook winters so handling was not up to par with what I'm used to however once again the basic feel was familiar.
This car had the very expensive headrest speakers which appear to offer up mid and high end frequencies. These speakers installed retail for over $1000.
In case anyones wondering I was offered the drive curiosity of the new owner who I might add has been directed to this web site and who I feel will be a welcome addition.
Now, if only I could drive mine...

17" Hankook winters eh ? HMMMm ? interesting..
X, wanna chime in here and give your feedback..
Could the s2000 be breaking new ground with the advent of stock 17" rims, whereby giving rise to new competition to Blizzaks LM22's ?
thx

I have no personal experience with Hankook tires, winter or summer. I have only "heard" that they are quite adequate tires.
LM-22's have always been available in 17" size as I'm sure Hankook tires have always been available in 16" size, so I don't think the competition thing is an issue. Hankook is not a well known or well accepted brand to the motoring public. Sure, people have heard of them but are never quite sure what to think of them.
I'd have to take a close look at their tread design and cost before scratching them off my list.
