Default FYI: Xviper has left s2ki.com

For everyone who hasn't followed the threads that have been closed and deleted in the other forums, Xviper (Dave) has decided to leave s2ki.com.

Due to the changing nature of s2ki.com and a few clowns from the SoCal forum he has called it a day.

Feel free to say farewell to Xviper on this thread or the other various farewell Xviper threads and make your opinions known.

You will be missed on here Dave.

If you want to read the history of this go here, these thread were locked:

Of course, it will be a shame to see Dave leave what has almost become an internet "home" for me, and for a lot of others here at Prairie Redliners.

That said, I too have noticed that the demographics of ownership, and subsequently s2ki.com have changed, some for the better, and some for the worse.

In any event Dave, good luck with your future endeavours. I wish you all the best. Its been a great 5 and a half-ish years knowing you. It almost seems like yesterday when we met for the first time at "Big Reds" almost six years ago. One thing is for certain; if it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't have found myself a great friend.

I'm sure we'll keep in touch in the future!

Cheerio

Dylan, you might be on your own since I had this to say:

"You should have some respect for a guy who has helped so many and has put $ in your pocket because of it. "

Oh the drama. I'm fed up with Dave having a melt down biannually. After 5.5 years and 38000 posts you would think you would learn to get along and not take things personally. If nate does things for people and doesn't want them copied then that's his right and it's not xviper's right to challenge that.

I think nate is fighting a losing battle. I think nate's s2000 illustrations violate Honda's trademark. Neither of those things are any of my business and I'm not going to get bent about it but Dave seems to think it's his and he seems to think it's worth going to the mat over. Whatever.

well, if we're just discussing the last few days events, I dont see why this would need to be closed... I think our local members deserve to know and discuss what happened with xviper, if they so feel the need...

Yup, people need to know the full story. Somene locked some of the threads and they somehow disappeared and needed a straight link to view...hmm....

I read all of the threads and must say I am deeply disappointed that Xviper is leaving. I shared a few PMs with Dave over the years and he always had the time to reply to the simplest questions from me. I also agree with Koala's assesment that used S2Ks are becoming cheaper and that brings a different cross-section of individuals to the forum. I certainly hope that this is not the beginning of the end.

I just encourage everyone else to remain professional and try not to react to many of the things that have been said. Xviper is leaving and I am very sure that there can be nothing said to him that will bring him back. Unfortunately we have to move on without him.

I can't believe it came to this. Dave is a GREAT guy. He helped me a lot and all his DIY threads has saved me money from taking the car to the dealership. His DIY threads gave me the confidence to work on my car and if I have a question he always replied to my PMs.

I don't post much on this forum, but instead I read and learn from other members past experiences. This site contains many valuble information for members, however those valuable posts are becoming less and less everyday. Instead posts of ignorant disrespectful members has become more common.

Hope you reconsider Dave and good luck.

Dave was recently in Comox and I had a chance to go for coffee with him. We talked cars of course and it reminded me of the days when we were all Newbies and how much fun it was to learn about this amazing car. He really has been a tremendous resource for me and it is sad to see him go. Fact is, many of us have kind of left already.
